The majority of people choose to have angiomas removed for aesthetic and cosmetic concerns as these can be aesthetically undesirable and could lead to psychological concern if the angioma impacted a very visible area such as the face. Angiomas cannot cause any harm because they are benign lesions and are therefore not cancerous or dangerous. They are common skin growths that can develop on your skin, they are also known as hemangiomas, senile angiomas, or Campbell de Morgan spots. They appear most commonly on your torso, arms and legs of your body. Cherry angiomas are: round, about 2 mm to 4 mm in size, light to dark red. From all the methods available to remove Cherry Angiomas, this method has been rated highly popular due to speed, comfort and quick effortless removal with no downtime. Since the laser seals blood vessels as it works, there is a reduced risk of bleeding during the procedure. Additionally, the non-invasive nature of the treatment lowers the risk of infection compared to surgical removal methods.
The treatment involves using a focused beam of light to specifically target the blood vessels within the angioma. The laser’s heat causes these vessels to collapse and ultimately destroys the angioma. This method is highly effective, minimally invasive, and offers the advantage of precision, reducing the risk of damage to the surrounding skin.
The treatment time depends on the area to be covered and the number of cherry angiomas to be treated. A single session typically lasts 10-20 minutes not including the consultation, preparation and aftercare.
One of the key advantages of using the Ellipse Laser is the reduced level of discomfort compared to other removal methods. The procedure is considered to be less painful, and many clients report only a mild sensation similar to the snap of a rubber band against the skin.
Immediately after treatment there may be some slight redness in the skin which will disappear in 1-2 hours or in some cases a few days. There may also be some slight swelling and bruising, these are all signs of inflammation and are an indication of a successful treatment. Applying a cooling gel or ice pack to the area can help reduce redness and swelling, promoting faster recovery. Pin dot crusts or small scabs may appear in the treated area and the skin may itch as the healing process takes place. It is important to refrain from picking or scratching the scabs, as this can increase the risk of scarring or infection. The treated area may appear darker or lighter than the surrounding skin temporarily. These pigment changes usually resolve gradually as the skin heals and renews itself. Protecting the treated area from direct sunlight by using sunscreen and wearing protective clothing can help minimise pigmentation changes. Healing typically takes ten to fourteen days from treatment.
The number of treatments required will be based on the size and depth of the lesion and how many you have. Often lesions can disappear after just one session again this depends on the size and depth.
You must refrain from smoking 4 hours prior to your treatment and stop taking anti-inflammatories 7 days before your treatment. It is important to avoid tanning (sun, solarium or self-tanning cream) 30-60 days before and after the treatment period. Tanned skin will absorb more light which will make the treatment more painful and will put you at risk of burning. People with sensitive skin may benefit from using 100% pure Aloe Vera Gel for a few days after treatment. We recommend you limit sun exposure and use a sunscreen (SPF 50) for a few weeks following treatment.
