TCA Cool Peel

Who is this treatment best for?

The Cool Peels are for stubborn skin concerns. These peels require a course of 6-12 and are not done as one off treatments, the skin must also be prepared with some recommended products 3 weeks prior to treatment. They are peels that gentle and done more frequently compared to the classic deep peel. With a deep peel you will get more of a result from one peel compared to one cool peel but there is a 2-3 weeks down period, you have all these possible side effects and it is so destructive that it can only be done a couple of times a year and no more. You will get great results from the cool peels but it will take longer.

Which skin type is this treatment for?

Peels are great for acne skin, deep lines and wrinkles, rosacea and scaring. If you are concerned with acne, deep lines or rosacea, textural leathery looking skin or photo damaged skin, you will benefit from a course of cool peels.

How many types of Cool Peels are there?

There are x6 different types of Cool Peels.

  • Youth Renew Cool Peel; deep lines and wrinkles, photo damaged skin
  • Blemish Control Cool Peel; acne and rosacea
  • Moisture Boost Cool Peel; dry and dehydrated skin
  • Deep Cleansing Cool Peel; congestion and blackheads
  • Bright Recovery Cool Peel; fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and dull complexions
  • Vibrant C Cool Peel; sun damaged skin

How does the peel work?

Peels release growth factors in the skin. One of the growth factors is it will stimulate type I Collagen which benefit your photo damaged and aged skin. The next growth factor will reduce redness by strengthening your capillary network so great for acne or rosacea. The next growth factor released is for wound healing which plumps up the skin. The peels also help to sterilise the skin great for acne and rosacea. Those growth factors are only released when you have a low pH and a low percentage.

How long does the treatment take?

60 Minutes

What can I expect?

Environs peels all feel cool and comfortable on the skin when they are applied which is why they are called cool peels. They leave no damage to the skin, no downtime and clients can go back to work.

How many treatments are needed for best results?

You must do a course of x6, a cool peel is not recommended as a single treatment. If the skin concern is very stubborn another course of x6 may be required.

Do I need to take special precautions before and after the treatment?

Skin must be prepared with our recommend products for 3 weeks before having a cool peel. Our products must be used as the skin will result in a much more predictable way when we are using Environ’s Vitamin A then we know if your skin can take a Cool Peel. You must avoid sun exposure and sun beds as the peel will photo sensitise your skin and you must wear an SPF. As it is a peel we do not advise using it in the summer months except for problematic skin as problematic skin can tolerate it better.

How many types of Cool Peels are there?

We are unable to treat anyone with the following;

  • Roaccutane users; we would have to wait 6 months before you finish your Roaccutane before we can do a peel as Roaccutane can be very thinning on the skin.
  • Recent Microdermabrasion; We want to wait 6-8 weeks as microdermabrasion removes the top layer and we want to ensure the skin is back to normal before we do a peel.
  • Recent Dermabrasion / Laser Resurfacing; We would need to wait 6 months as this is a deeper treatment.
  • Laser / IPL Hair Removal; We would need to wait 3 weeks before a Cool Peel.
  • Porphyia; which makes someones skin very sensitive to light which can cause it to peel.
  • Eczema / Psoriasis; as the skin is too sensitive and the peel would be too uncomfortable.
  • Any one who has Cancer.
  • Any one who has Diabetes.
  • Pregnancy; not because it is unsafe, but because it has not been trialed and tested, also someone who is pregnant their hormones are changing and their skin may be more sensitised.
  • Cold sores; please let your therapist know if you are prone to coldsores, the peel can be very stimulating and precautions can be made to avoid this.
  • Pigmentation; many peels on the market claim to remove pigmentation and may seem to temporally solve the problem, however peels can aggravate the pigmented cells so we strongly advise to discuss this with your therapist so they can offer a more suitable treatment.
